What Are Foot & Ankle Fractures?
Foot and ankle fractures involve cracks or complete breaks in the bones of the foot, toes, or ankle joint. In patients with diabetes or neuropathy, fractures often go unnoticed due to lack of pain, leading to severe bone displacement, joint collapse (Charcot joint), or chronic non-union if not properly immobilized.
Common Symptoms
Inability to bear weight or pain while stepping · Swelling, bruising, and warmth around the foot or ankle · Visible bone deformity or unnatural toe alignment · Deep ache inside the foot following a fall or blunt impact
Our Treatment Approach
Digital X-ray & CT imaging → cast immobilization / specialized non-weight-bearing boots → surgical internal fixation (screws/plates) for displaced fractures → diabetic bone-healing protocols → structured physical rehabilitation.
