Sebaceous Cyst & Lipoma Removal

What Are Foot Cysts & Lipomas?

Sebaceous cysts (fluid-filled sacs from blocked skin glands) and lipomas (soft, benign fatty tissue growths) can form beneath the skin of the foot, ankle, or leg. While benign, their presence on the lower ambutation often causes friction against shoes, pressure-induced nerve irritation, or secondary bacterial infection.

Common Symptoms

A smooth, soft-to-firm bump under the skin of the foot or leg · Slow growth over time without major early symptoms · Pain or redness if the cyst becomes inflamed or infected · Discomfort caused by friction against shoe collars or straps

Our Treatment Approach

Clinical palpation & ultrasound differentiation → complete surgical excision under local anesthesia (removing the full cyst capsule to prevent recurrence) → cosmetic skin suturing → protective post-op dressing and wound monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a sebaceous cyst grow back after removal?
As long as the entire surrounding cyst capsule/sac is surgically removed during the procedure, recurrence at the same site is extremely rare.
Is foot cyst removal done as a day procedure?
Yes, cyst and lipoma excisions are minor, 20-minute in-office procedures performed under local anesthesia, allowing you to go home immediately afterward.
